For several years we have been grateful to have Robert Consedine as our patron, Robert has now relinquished the role and we are delighted to have Dame Malvina Major as our new patron

An excerpt from her website tells us,” Dame Malvina has chosen to live in New Zealand, while maintaining an  active international singing career. Her services to opera and the community were acknowledged in 1991 when she was invested Dame of the British Empire. In 2008 she was a made a Principal Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit, changed in 2009 to Grande Dame of the New Zealand Order of Merit. In 1992 she was named New Zealand Entertainer of the Year. She has received Honorary Doctorates from both Waikato and Massey Universities, and is the Professor of Voice at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand”.
