Sandplay is a therapeutic technique that is regarded as play by the children who use it. A happy, healthy child will need no introduction to the sand tray. They know what to do when they enter the room and see the sand and toys. When a child has been wounded, neglected or abused it is often apparent by the way they approach the sand tray.
