Dancing With the Stars is Coming (Back) to Christchuch

And you can be involved! If you’ve ever watched the show and thought ‘I wish I could do that’, now you can. Here’s how…

In short, the contest is an opportunity to receive professional dance training, get fit, raise money for a worthwhile local charity and raise the profile of your business or organisation.

Contestants will have 6 weeks’ professional dance training (on a Saturday or Sunday) before taking to the stage on the evening of Thursday June 22nd 2017 at the Transitional Cathedral on Hereford Street. Classes and 1:1 sessions will be delivered by Vanessa Cole.

Money is raised in ticket sales, sponsorship and voting – all money raised will go directly to Home & Family. The Fundraising Challenge took Christchurch by storm last year. The event was hugely successful, selling out within days and raising $44,000 for Home & Family Society.

Home & Family is an independent Christchurch based Incorporated Society that works with children, youth, adults and families facing barriers to positive outcomes in their lives. Home & Family has been in operation for over 118 years It was originally established as the Society for the Protection of Women and Children. The actions of the Society brought about significant social and political change and undoubtedly altered today’s society for the better. This family focused, forward thinking still drives Home & Family today and we now offer residential parenting programmes, emergency accommodation and a counselling service for all ages in Christchurch.
