First Heroes – Sponsored by Apollo Projects
Home & Family would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Apollo Projects, for their generous sponsorship of our upcoming First Heroes event.
Coming up on 20 November, First Heroes is a day-long symposium for dads, the first of its kind in Christchurch. Thanks to Apollo Projects the day is free to all attendees.
What’s First Heroes all about?
A hero is a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble characteristics, a person of superhuman qualities. As fathers we are our children’s First Hero. First Heroes Day is about creating a safe environment for fathers to come together to gather skills, inspiration, soul food and good company to support fathers on their walk as healthy fathers and healthy heroes.
The day will involve workshops, speakers and peer support. It will reconnect fathers with traditional Maori models of parenting. It is open to fathers who would like to share their knowledge and experience, or who are looking for support, empowerment or an opportunity to discuss challenges facing fathers today. Our keynote speaker will be Josh Wharehinga (I Am Waru)
It will end with a whakanoa and sharing of food, to which children are also invited.
