Our child therapists are qualified to work with children aged 5 to 18. They are experienced in working with family violence, trauma, grief, physical or social neglect, abuse, gender identification and bullying. Our work focuses closely on the child’s age and stage and the concept that a child will express themselves and look to solve problems if in a safe and trusting environment.
With regular parent review sessions over this period, we ensure that the wider whānau have the skills and knowledge to monitor their child’s behavior and intervene appropriately to support their needs. By improving the communication between parent and child, sustainable change can happen within an entire family unit. This work is supported by the introduction of our parenting series education programmes.
Our heavily subsidised program is on a ’pay what you can afford’ basis which ensures that cost does not become a barrier for tamariki, rangatahi and whānau in engaging the support services they need.
