Family Violence Response

Home & Family is part of Canterbury’s Integrated Safety Response (ISR).

Coordinated by NZ Police, this multi-agency collaboration ensures the immediate safety and protection of whānau in the aftermath of family violence, abuse, or neglect.  

Home & Family responds to approximately 1000 callouts per year when they involve tamariki or rangatahi. Using the world-renowned Safe & Together model, our team place children at the forefront of safety planning, working with the ‘safe’ parent to minimise disruption to the child’s everyday life and wellbeing. We also work with the perpetrators to prevent further harm.
